Cotrijal advises producers on precautions for planting soybeans during Femate.

Cotrijal participated in the 11th National Yerba Mate Festival (Femate), held from September 10th to 13th at the Arvorezinha Municipal Events Park. During the fair, the cooperative's booth served as a meeting place for associated producers, partners, and visitors.

“Cotrijal’s presence at Femate is very important because here we find partner companies and, especially, our associated producers, who come to visit the fair and stop by our stand to have a coffee, a chimarrão (a traditional South American infused drink), and chat with us. We are very happy to welcome our members and the activities developed by our cooperative,” highlights the Business Unit Manager, Fernando Muneroli.

On Friday the 11th, Cotrijal held a panel discussion at its booth entitled "Seed of our land: the strength of our soil, in the hands of those who make the field grow," led by the coordinator of the Technical Department, Alexandre Nowicki, and the technical disseminator, Rodrigo Feron. The activity addressed seed quality and treatment, as well as the main precautions to take during sowing, especially in light of the influence of the El Niño phenomenon.

“Seed quality is very important for the producer and will guarantee good crop establishment. Thinking about high germination and high vigor will certainly make a difference at this initial stage so that the producer has high productivity at the end, when these areas are harvested,” explains Feron.

In addition to seed quality, the conversation moved on to the care needed during crop establishment. "We can mention soil temperature, sowing depth, sowing speed, and also the precautions the producer should take during planting, especially in these years influenced by the El Niño phenomenon," Nowicki points out.

Following the panel discussion, members participated with questions and were able to exchange experiences with the Cotrijal technical team. The activity concluded with a social gathering at the booth, strengthening the integration between producers and professionals from the Cooperative.
