Soybeans boost Brazilian agricultural exports in early 2026.

THE Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) released data on Brazilian agribusiness exports for January 2026, which totaled US$10.7 billion. This value represents a decrease of 2.3% compared to December 2025 and a decline of 2.2% compared to January of last year, according to data from Itaú BBA Agro Consulting.

Among the highlights of the period is the soybean complex. Grain exports totaled 1.9 million tons, a growth of 751% compared to the previous year. The average price also increased, rising by 9.21%, reaching US$442.8 per ton. Soybean meal shipments reached 1.9 million tons, an increase of 131% compared to the same period in 2025, with prices stable at US$356 per ton. Soybean oil exports reached 146,000 tons, an increase of 66%, while the average price rose by 7%, reaching US$1,101.4 per ton. In total, the soybean complex generated revenue of US$1.66 billion.

In the animal protein segment, shipments of fresh beef totaled 231,800 tons, a growth of 29% compared to the previous year. The average price remained high, at US$5,573.2 per ton, with an increase of 11% compared to the previous year and stability compared to December 2025.

Exports of fresh chicken meat totaled 396,000 tons, an increase of 3.71% compared to January 2025. The average price was US$1,918.3 per ton, with no significant variation during the period. Meanwhile, fresh pork shipments reached 100,000 tons, an increase of 14% compared to last year. The average price was US$2,515.8 per ton, a decrease of 0.8% compared to the previous month, but an increase of 2.6% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, corn shipments reached 4.2 million tons, an increase of 18% compared to the previous year, with prices remaining stable at US$ 218.7 per ton.
