Planting soy The 2026/27 harvest is progressing at different paces across Brazil, influenced by the uneven distribution of rainfall. While humidity favors work in the Center-South, the lack of regular rainfall is worrying producers in the Center-North.
In Paraná, the rains of the last few weeks have improved soil moisture conditions, favoring sowing. However, high volumes and frequent rainfall can hinder the entry of machinery and reduce the working windows in the field.
"While the humidity favors the advancement of planting in areas of the South-Central region, in the North-Central region the irregularity of rainfall keeps attention focused on the establishment of crops," summarizes meteorologist Patrícia Cassoli from Ampere Consultoria.
In the state of Mato Grosso, planting in rainfed areas remains limited by the low availability of water in the soil. According to meteorologist Patrícia Cassoli, from Ampere Consultoria, regular rainfall will be essential to ensure the germination and establishment of crops.
Until the end of the first half of October, the forecast indicates irregular rainfall in Mato Grosso, with accumulations of up to 40 millimeters, mainly in the western and southern regions. In Paraná, there is a possibility of storms and volumes exceeding 100 millimeters.
According to the meteorologist, the current scenario presents distinct challenges for producers. In the South, excess moisture could cause temporary planting stoppages, while in the North-Central region, the continuation of sowing depends on more evenly distributed rainfall.
