The State Agency for Animal and Plant Health Defense (Iagro) has opened a public consultation on the control and monitoring of Salmonella in commercial poultry processing plants in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. The objective of public consultation No. 001/2026 is to receive suggestions, comments, and contributions on the control and monitoring of Salmonella in commercial poultry processing plants in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, with a view to drafting regulations on the matter.

The CEO of Iagro, Daniel Ingold, emphasizes that the public consultation is fundamental to strengthening the poultry farming chain. “It is a strategic sector for the economic development of Mato Grosso do Sul. Poultry health is an essential pillar for the competitiveness and sustainability of this production chain, and the participation of veterinarians, laboratories, and producers is crucial for improving the processes of diagnosis and monitoring of diseases,” he highlighted.
