Aprosoja MT holds meeting with journalists in Brasília to expand dialogue between the countryside and the city.

The Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT) held a breakfast meeting with journalists from the federal capital this Tuesday (September 24th) in Brasília. The meeting aimed to further strengthen ties between the production sector and the national press, reinforcing the importance of direct dialogue about the challenges and achievements of rural producers in Mato Grosso.

The president of Aprosoja MT, Lucas Costa Beber, recalled that the press plays a fundamental role in bringing the sector closer to society and giving visibility to the work done in the field. “I always say that journalism has the power to influence and bring people closer, to demystify and show the positive work that the sector does. Furthermore, it helps to guide and set the agenda for the National Congress and the Judiciary, precisely because it understands, mainly through data, facts and figures, the reality of our sector,” said Costa Beber.

According to the organization's president, the presence of media outlets at the meeting reinforced the importance of this dialogue.

"Certainly, the meeting was very positive. We were honored by the presence of journalists from renowned media outlets, and this also brings our organization and our sector closer to society, showcasing all the positive factors and work that we carry out and provide to both society and the sector itself," he added.

The event included the participation of journalists who were present and positively evaluated the opening of this space for interaction. Davi Vittorazzi, from CNN Brazil, highlighted that initiatives like this contribute to society's understanding of soybean and corn production and recognizes the role of the press in this process.

“I think it’s fundamental, especially for society, to know more about the work that Aprosoja MT does, specifically here in Brasília, the center of power, where many political and commercial relationships exist. For us, who follow the coverage, this meeting was another moment of clarification, because many times we don’t know what’s happening on the ground. At this meeting, we were able to learn firsthand about the work being done. This broadens our vision, brings recognition, and shows the importance of the press as a bridge between information and the public. For us, it’s essential to understand everything you are doing,” said the CNN journalist.

Ederson Granetto, editor-in-chief of Canal Agro+, also reinforced the importance of bringing the productive sector closer to the national press. “It’s important that Aprosoja MT communicates not only with journalists in Mato Grosso, but also with the press throughout the country. Brasília is an example of this; it’s where the professionals who cover agribusiness are located, and at the same time, it’s where the Ministry and Congress are concentrated. Today we have more than 300 parliamentarians in the agricultural caucus, which makes the federal capital a strategic center for communicating the issues of the field, bringing the sector closer to specialized journalists, like us at Canal Agro Mais,” he pointed out.

Representing Aprosoja Brasil, the Communications Manager, Vinícius Tavares, highlighted that initiatives like this, in addition to expanding relationships with journalists, also directly reach society.

“This meeting is essential because we are not only talking to journalists, but to society. The journalist is the one who connects the rural producer, the reality of the countryside, to the consumer. Often the consumer doesn't know the journey the food takes to reach the table, the difficulties faced, and in the case of soy, at Aprosoja Brasil we talk about food, soy and corn that are in milk, eggs, dairy products, meat, also in biodiesel, which feeds and transports people. And from this meeting, several topics can emerge; we have many opportunities not to just focus on the daily bad news, but also to propose good topics, good points of view to journalists so that we can bring the truth about agriculture to society,” he stated.

With this latest edition of "Coffee with Journalists," Aprosoja MT seeks to strengthen connections and broaden dialogue with society through the press, demonstrating the relevance and sustainability of soybean and corn production for Brazil.
