Aprosoja MT participates in the 3rd Abramilho Congress with an institutional stand and panel alongside international attachés

This Wednesday (14.05), the Association of Soybean and Corn Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja MT) will be present at the 3rd Congress of the Brazilian Association of Corn and Sorghum Producers (Abramilho), an event that brings together the main names in Brazilian agribusiness and authorities in the sector to discuss the direction of corn and national agricultural production.

With an exclusive stand, Aprosoja MT presents visitors with the entity's main projects and actions, reinforcing its commitment to supporting rural producers in Mato Grosso with information and sustainability.

During the event, the president of Aprosoja Mato Grosso, Lucas Costa Beber, participated as a guest in the panel “Sustainability and the challenges of current geopolitics”, alongside important representatives of the international sector. The debate was attended by Brazilian agricultural attachés Glauco Bertoldo (European Union), Ana Lúcia Viana (United States), Luiz Claudio Caruso (Singapore), as well as Márcio Santos (CEO of Bayer Brazil) and Lucas Costa Beber himself for Aprosoja MT.

During the panel, the president of the entity highlighted the relevance of Brazil's insertion in the international market, the need to take advantage of the opportunities that the global scenario offers to Brazilian producers and also emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility in the country to guarantee the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.

“We took advantage of the fact that the political class was here to demand that our government also show fiscal responsibility in order to have control, reduce the Selic rate and interest rates, especially access to agricultural credit financed by the Safra Plan. We have to have the vision that now is opening up, a great opportunity in the face of Trump’s tariff hike and this international war. Brazil is the country that can most increase the supply of food,” he highlighted.

One of the topics discussed was the European anti-deforestation law, which, according to attaché Glauco Bertoldo, should come into effect by the end of this year. “We have some uncertainties, one of which is the review of commodities and ecosystems, and we have some information that these two points will not be changed. Therefore, my impression is that this law will come into effect by the end of the year. With this in mind, what we have adopted is a very strong technical defense of what we really do and produce in Brazil, and an important point is our participation in technical forums, because we have been able to explain the sustainable processes of our Brazilian production well. This has to be done, because Brazil’s image has been very wrong here in the European Union in relation to agricultural production,” said Bertoldo.

The attachés from the United States and Singapore presented an overview of the current agricultural production scenario in their respective countries. They also highlighted how international decisions, including trade policies, environmental regulations and tariff barriers, directly influence the dynamics of the global market, affecting prices, supply, demand and the competitiveness of agricultural products on the international stage.

The president of Aprosoja MT also reinforced the importance of completing Ferrogrão, highlighting that it is a viable, strategic and sustainable project, fundamental to improving the logistics of the flow of the state's agricultural production and significantly reducing costs and carbon emissions in the transportation of grains to export ports.

“When we see President Macron come here to Brazil to speak badly of Ferrogrão, it is a sign that it is indeed very good and that it will make producers from Mato Grosso, and Brazilians as well, more competitive. Mato Grosso, which is a state with the same territorial size as France and Germany combined, has more than 70 thousand kilometers of railway, while in Mato Grosso we currently operate with less than 400 km. The completion of Ferrogrão is more than necessary for this solution. And, also concerned with sustainability, which is a theme of this panel, Ferrogrão should stop emitting 3.4 million tons of carbon per year, that is, it is totally sustainable and viable”, he pointed out.

Aprosoja MT, at its stand at the event, presented brochures on the entity's main projects and answered questions from participants about its actions and initiatives. The president of Aprosoja MT also emphasized that events such as the Abramilho Congress are essential to give a voice to the sector and strengthen the representation of rural producers.

“It is a factor that all those who represent the agricultural production chain here in the country will be present together with the political class, in which we can give direction, the vision through our positioning as an entity to seek better policies that further promote production and, of course, with economic sustainability for our producers”, concluded Lucas Costa Beber.
