Cold front advances across Brazil and temperatures plummet.

The mass of cold air advancing through the South-Central region of Brazil will cause a sharp drop in temperatures this Friday (21) and Saturday (22), with minimum temperatures close to 0°C in the mountainous areas of the Southern Region and the possibility of frost. According to the forecast released by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the cold will also reach Mato Grosso do Sul and parts of the Southeast, while intense winds will hit coastal areas and the main rains will be concentrated in the North.

The change occurs after the passage of a cold front. Behind the system, a mass of dry, cold air reduces temperatures, mainly in the southern states. On Saturday, the mountain ranges of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina may register minimum temperatures of 0°C.
