PT_BR The Mato Grosso Agricultural Research Support Foundation (Fundação MT) will hold Cotton Day, a field day focused on cotton cultivation, on June 10th and 11th, with the theme "On the Edge of Productivity". The event will take place at the Fundação Mato Grosso experimental station in Sapezal, at Fazenda Tucunaré. With free registration, Cotton Day offers agricultural professionals the opportunity for technical updates and strengthens connections within the cotton production sector.
The Research, Services and Operations Manager of the Mato Grosso Foundation, Luís Carlos de Oliveira, emphasizes that Cotton Day will address sensitive issues within cotton farming operations on the farm, such as management, technology, and the decisions that make a difference in the final result. "The event offers a program that was designed with the current harvest in mind, focusing especially on how this current harvest is going, and within a Foundation season where we have several results to present to the participants," he said.
At Cotton Day, producers will have the opportunity to learn more about the MT Foundation's project for controlling pigweed in cotton crops. Participants will take guided tours of a cultivar showcase featuring the newest cotton varieties from MT Foundation partner companies. The program will also include lectures on fungicides in cotton cultivation and potassium fertilization in the soybean-cotton system, highlighting the presentation of results from a trial spanning more than 12 years of potassium fertilization in the soybean-cotton system. The lecture agenda will also cover topics such as the current crop season with a focus on pests and nematodes.
