A drop in external demand reduces Brazilian egg exports by 36%.

Brazilian egg exports registered a sharp decline in March, reflecting reduced demand from major importing markets. Data from Secex, compiled by researchers from CepeaData indicates that the country shipped 1,870 tons of fresh and processed eggs during that period.

The volume represents a drop of 36% compared to February and is equivalent to half of what was recorded in March of last year, when shipments totaled 3,770 tons. This is the lowest monthly level since December 2024.

Despite the sharper decline in volume, revenue fell less sharply. Exports generated US$4.53 million in March, a decrease of 271% compared to the previous month and 48% compared to the same period last year.

The difference between the drop in volume and in revenue indicates relative support for average export prices, although insufficient to compensate for the slowdown in shipments.
