The 2025/26 soybean harvest begins with good prospects in Brazil.

The 2025/26 soybean harvest began in recent weeks in areas of northern Mato Grosso and western Paraná, and good productivity is expected.

According to researchers at Cepea, weather conditions remain predominantly favorable in Brazil's main producing regions, reinforcing optimism about a record harvest.

Nevertheless, liquidity in the domestic market is low, with producers holding back from spot sales, which has put pressure on prices at the start of the year.

On the international front, data from Secex indicates that Brazil shipped 3.38 million tons of soybeans in December 2025, a volume 59.3% higher than that shipped in December 2024. This increase is mainly due to greater Chinese demand: in the last month alone, 2.6 million tons of the oilseed were destined for China, 83.8% more than in the same period of 2024.

In the accumulated total for 2025, Brazilian shipments reached a record volume of 108.18 million tons, exceeding the 106.97 million tons estimated by Conab in its December 2025 report.
