Meat exports from Mato Grosso grew by 671% in the third quarter, totaling US$1.28 billion.

Meat exports from Mato Grosso registered strong growth again in the third quarter of 2025, reaching US$1.28 billion between July and September, according to a survey by Data Hub MT of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedec), based on information from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), at the request of the Union of Meat Processing Industries of Mato Grosso (Sindifrigo/MT).

The performance includes frozen and fresh beef, fresh, chilled or frozen pork, and poultry and edible offal, traded with 92 countries. China maintained its absolute leadership, accounting for 56,67% of total imports for the period.

Compared to the same quarter of 2024, when the exported value was US$762.74 million, the increase was 67.41%. In the accumulated period from January to September 2025, exports totaled US$2.88 billion, compared to US$2.09 billion recorded in the same period of the previous year, an increase of 381.

Among the products, the exported value of frozen beef was US$1.64 billion, representing 78.41 of the total, fresh or chilled beef US$256.8 million (12.2 of the total), and poultry US$146.3 million (7 of the total).

China remains the largest buyer of these products with US$$ 851.6 million (40.76%), followed by the United Arab Emirates with US$$ 225.7 million (10.8%) and Turkey with US$$ 96.4 million (4.6%).

According to the president of Sindifrigo-MT, Paulo Bellincanta, the result confirms the sector's solidity and, once again, the absence of impact from the so-called US "tariff hike" on Brazilian meat. "Mato Grosso's performance reinforces the competitiveness of our meatpacking industry and the confidence of international markets in the quality of the meat produced here. Even with the tariff hike imposed by the United States, there was no impact on exports. The numbers show that the sector remains strong, diversified, and with a consolidated presence in more than 90 countries. The trend is to close the year with a new historical record, easily surpassing the results of 2024," he assessed.
