This week, the Brazilian government concluded health negotiations with the United Arab Emirates for the export of live birds (except poultry). The agreement covers species intended for ornamental purposes, conservation in zoos, and other uses, but does not include birds intended for commercial slaughter or egg production.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the opening is part of the strategy to diversify the national agribusiness export agenda, expanding business opportunities for producers specialized in this segment.
In 2024, Brazil exported more than US$1.5 billion in agricultural products to the United Arab Emirates, with emphasis on meat, coffee and items from the sugar-alcohol complex.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has now opened 404 markets in 71 destinations since the beginning of 2023, reinforcing the international presence of the country's products.
