Exports react and slow the fall in chicken meat prices

Average chicken meat prices fell in July for the third consecutive month, according to surveys by Cepea.

The downward movement, however, was the least intense since the restrictions imposed by commercial partners, as a result of the detection of Avian Influenza on a commercial farm in the municipality of Montenegro (RS), in May of this year.

Furthermore, the Research Center points out that meat prices last month exceeded those recorded in July 2024, in real terms. For live cattle, there were price increases both monthly and year-over-year.

According to collaborators consulted by Cepea, this appreciation is linked to the gradual resumption of meat exports by important Brazilian trading partners, such as South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
