Copasul begins construction of the largest soybean processing unit in its history

Earthmoving works began in April at Copasul's Soybean Processing Industrial Unit, on BR-163, between Naviraí and Juti, in Mato Grosso do Sul. In the first week of May, at least 210 workers moved the construction site with earthmoving for the installation of the general electrical substation, grain carrier and access roads to the construction sites.

This phase is expected to be completed by the end of May, if the weather is favorable. Once the soil preparation phase is complete, the schedule includes the start of the foundations for the construction that will support the factory structures.

Copasul's Soybean Processing Unit is located next to the cooperative's starch factory on the BR 163 Highway, Km 142.5, in Naviraí. The cooperative owns 115 hectares.

This is the largest project in Copasul's history. The total investment is R$1.013 billion, exclusively for the industry. Other investments totaled R$400 million and were earmarked for expanding the grain storage capacity in Copasul's silos, a phase completed at the beginning of this year with the inauguration of the Serra de Maracaju Silos, which will have an impact on the processor's demand for grains.
