Embrapa Soja will hold the workshop Embrapa Soja 50 years: history and perspectives on May 26, from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm, at the Company's headquarters in Londrina (PR), as part of the celebration of the institution's 50th anniversary, which will be completed on April 16, 2025. The objective of the event is to highlight the relevance of soybeans, the contribution of Embrapa and its partners to soybean cultivation, as well as to project the future of research and soybean farming. The first panel will discuss the role of Embrapa Soja in Brazil's leadership in global soybean production and will feature the participation of Décio Luiz Gazzoni, former general manager of Embrapa Soja and former Director of Embrapa; Antônio Márcio Buainain, professor at Unicamp; and Rubens José Campo, former general manager of Embrapa Soja. The panel will be moderated by Ricardo Manuel Arioli Silva, consultant to the National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA).
There will also be a panel to discuss technological development and innovation as a basis for maintaining the productive sustainability of Brazilian soybeans. The panel will feature the participation of Maurício Buffon, president of Aprosoja Brasil, Carlos Ernesto Augustin, advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Romeu Kiihl, former researcher at Embrapa Soja, and José Francisco Ferraz de Toledo, former general manager of Embrapa Soja. The panel will be moderated by Alexandre Lima Nepomuceno, general manager of Embrapa Soja.
