With buying pressure, corn prices fall again in Brazil

Domestic corn prices fell again last week in most regions monitored by Cepea.

According to the Research Center, the pressure came from the withdrawn stance of some buyers, who now prefer to consume stocks and move away from spot purchases, waiting for devaluations.

Active spot bidders offered lower prices for new lots. On the sellers' side, Cepea researchers indicate that many are focused on field work and are showing some flexibility in terms of values and terms for negotiations.

In the field, farmers remain attentive to the weather and the forecast for the return of rain, which, in turn, may alleviate concerns about the possible impacts of dry weather in March in parts of the second harvest regions, such as areas in Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul.

The sowing of the second Brazilian crop has been completed, according to the Conab report released on the 14th. The harvest of the summer crop is progressing and totals 65.5% of the national area, above the 60.3% average of the last five years.
