Planting the first crop of corn The 2026/27 crop season has progressed in the last two weeks in Paraná, favored by regular and well-distributed rainfall. According to data released by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), more than 67,000 of the 373,000 hectares estimated for the cycle have already been sown. The survey is part of the Deral Conjunctural Bulletin, released on Thursday (3). The area planted up to this week corresponds to 18% of the total planned for the State.
According to Deral, weather conditions favored the progress of operations in the fields. The pace is also close to that observed in recent harvests and within the calendar considered ideal by the Agricultural Zoning of Climatic Risk (ZARC). "Paraná's corn producers took advantage of the last two weeks to plant the first corn crop of 2026/27," the bulletin reports.
The first corn crop is grown mainly in the southernmost region of Paraná, which accounts for more than 571 TP4T of the area projected for the cycle. The Southwest region follows, with just over 241 TP4T of participation.
Among the producing regions, Ponta Grossa leads in the area dedicated to cultivation. According to data released by Deral, the municipality is expected to concentrate 72,800 hectares, almost 20% of the total area estimated for the first harvest in the State.
Guarapuava occupies second place, with just over 59,000 hectares planned. This area represents 16% of the total estimated for Paraná. With the progress of sowing and the favorable weather conditions recorded in recent weeks, planting is proceeding according to schedule for the first corn crop in the state.
