PT_BR The European Union was the market that best remunerated beef exports from Mato Grosso in February 2026. Data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) shows that beef exported to the bloc reached an average price of US$6,082.14 per ton, the highest among all destinations for the protein produced in the state.
The value exceeds the price paid by traditional markets such as China, which bought it for an average of US$4,206.20 per ton, and also countries in the Middle East, with US$4,481.37 per ton.
Up to February 2026, the European Union imported 5,300 tons in carcass equivalent (TEC), generating revenue of US$32.4 million for the state.
Even with a smaller share of the total volume, the European market stands out for its greater ability to pay. The so-called export attractiveness index, which measures the economic return per ton exported, places the European Union in the lead, with 119.91 points, ahead of other regions such as Europe (88.65) and the Middle East (80.39).
“Mato Grosso has been seeking to expand the number of markets it serves, and when we manage to access more demanding destinations, such as the European Union, this demonstrates that our meat meets high standards of quality and sustainability,” says Bruno de Jesus Andrade, Projects Director of the Mato Grosso Meat Institute (Imac).
