The 2025/26 soybean harvest reached 0.6% of the cultivated area in Brazil on Thursday (08), compared to 0.3% in the same period last year, according to a survey by AgRural. The pace is driven by Mato Grosso, but there is also harvesting in Paraná.
In historical terms, there is no noteworthy delay so far, although the lengthening of the plant cycle in some regions makes this harvest start a little slower than some initially expected.
In December, AgRural estimated Brazilian soybean production at a record 180.4 million tons. A new monthly revision will be released at the end of January.
Planting of the 2026 second corn crop begins in the first areas of Mato Grosso and Paraná.
The planting of the 2026 second corn crop has already begun in the first areas of the Center-South of Brazil. A survey by AgRural shows that 0.2% of the estimated area for the region was planted by Thursday (08), with machines already advancing in specific areas of Mato Grosso and Paraná. A year ago, in the 2025 second crop, there were still no percentages collected.
Summer corn
