On Friday (11/04), the Mato Grosso Seed Producers Association (APROSMAT) received a delegation of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) at its headquarters in Rondonópolis. The objective was to debate with members and leaders of the Mato Grosso agricultural sector, essential issues in the agricultural sector, with the presentation of demands and an effective contribution from the Association for the development of public policies that impact the seed segment.
For APROSMAT president Nelson Croda, receiving MAPA representatives at the Association’s headquarters for the first time is a source of great satisfaction and demonstrates the entity’s relevance and representation in the agribusiness sector. “This visit reinforces the construction of bridges between the public and private sectors, strengthening our commitment to innovation, sustainability and the growth of Brazilian agriculture.”
Leading the delegation, the Special Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Embrapa, Carlos Ernesto Augustin, highlighted the importance of the visit of MAPA representatives to Mato Grosso, especially APROSMAT. “This is an opportunity for us at the Ministry to meet the main agents that move the gears of agriculture and livestock in the state and discuss the demands and opportunities for the entire production chain,” he said.
The Director of Institutional Relations of the Mato Grosso Agriculture and Livestock Federation (Famato), Ronaldo Vinha, also participated in the meeting, which he said was very useful in terms of clarifying doubts and providing updates on MAPA, seed legislation, inspections and even banking legislation regarding rural credit and insurance. “Very productive. This type of meeting needs to happen more often, bringing people from Brasília to learn about our reality, learn about Mato Grosso and learn about the great production of our country and that it needs to be seen in a different way by them,” he commented.
Among the leaders of MAPA, the Secretary of Agricultural Defense, Carlos Goulart, praised APROSMAT for providing the group with this opportunity to visit the physical structure and institutional actions of the Association in favor of the seed sector and agribusiness itself. “On this occasion, they presented us with what the Association does, the leadership it exercises and how it has guided the development of the seed segment in Mato Grosso. They also showed how APROSMAT perceives the actions of the Ministry of Agriculture, and allowed us who are there in leadership positions to see how public policies reach the end, in the operations. This closer relationship allows us to evolve in the policies that MAPA has adopted”, he concluded.
To complete the presentations, the Superintendent of the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics, Cleiton Gauer, showed those present a diagnosis in numbers of the state's agricultural sector.
Also part of the MAPA delegation were the Deputy Secretary of the Executive Secretariat, Cleber Oliveira Soares, the Deputy Secretary of Agricultural Policy, Wilson Vaz de Araújo, the Secretary of Innovation, Sustainable Development, Irrigation and Cooperativism, Pedro Alves Corrêa Neto, the Superintendent of MAPA in Mato Grosso, Leny Rosa Filho and the President of the Sector Chamber of the Soybean Production Chain of MAPA, André Dobashi.
