The meat sector in Santa Catarina recorded exceptional export performance in the first two months of 2025, reaching historical records in both volume and revenue. In the first two months of the year, the state exported 328.6 thousand tons of meat, including chicken, pork, turkey, duck and geese, beef, among others, generating revenues of US$$ 698 million. “Our entire production chain is committed to quality. From the small producer concerned about his livestock, to the State that encourages, supports and monitors the entire production chain, to ports to ship the production. And this is the result. Our meat is increasingly conquering the most demanding markets in the world,” highlighted Governor Jorginho Mello.
“This record performance confirms the state’s strength in the international market and reinforces the favorable projections for the meat sector in Santa Catarina, with growth prospects throughout the year. It reflects the competitiveness and quality of the meat produced in the state, consolidating Santa Catarina as one of the largest and most important players in the global meat market,” says the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Chiodini.
The numbers are published by the Ministry of Economy and systematized by the Center for Socioeconomics and Agricultural Planning (Epagri/Cepa).
