The forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) indicates heavy rainfall between October 19 and 26, 2026, with accumulations that could exceed 200 mm in parts of the Southern Region. According to data released by INMET based on its numerical model, the highest volumes are expected in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paran\u00e1, and S\u00e3o Paulo, as well as areas of Rio de Janeiro and western Amazonas.\n<\/p>\n

The week begins with predominantly sunny skies and varying cloud cover across much of the Southern Region, while the eastern strip may experience light and isolated rain. From Wednesday afternoon and evening (21), new instabilities are expected to advance across the western portion of the three states, favoring the occurrence of storms and significant amounts of precipitation.<\/p>\n

According to INMET's forecast, the highest rainfall totals are expected in northern and northwestern Rio Grande do Sul, western, midwestern, and eastern Santa Catarina, as well as Paran\u00e1. In these areas, rainfall amounts may vary between 70 mm and 150 mm over five days, with isolated points exceeding 200 mm. In other areas of the Southern Region, the predicted totals range between 15 mm and 60 mm over five days.<\/p>\n

In the Southeast, instability is expected to begin in the southern portion, initially in S\u00e3o Paulo, and move northward throughout the week. By the end of the period, the forecast indicates the possibility of rain also in northern Minas Gerais and Esp\u00edrito Santo. The highest accumulations are expected in S\u00e3o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and southern Esp\u00edrito Santo, with volumes between 30 mm and 80 mm, mainly between Thursday (22) and Monday (26). In other areas of the region, the forecast indicates isolated accumulations between 15 mm and 40 mm over five days.\n<\/p>\n

In the Central-West region, the weather should vary between periods of sunshine, variable cloud cover, and isolated showers with thunderstorms. In the western part of Mato Grosso and the western half of Mato Grosso do Sul, more persistent rains are expected, but with low accumulations throughout the week.<\/p>\n

The situation changes in the extreme south of Mato Grosso do Sul from Thursday (22), when new instabilities may cause storms with lightning, wind gusts, possible hail and heavy rain. The expected volumes vary between 20 mm and 80 mm between Thursday (22) and Sunday (25).<\/p>\n

In the Northern Region, the highest rainfall totals are expected to be concentrated in western Amazonas, with volumes between 20 mm and 40 mm and isolated areas that could exceed 100 mm in seven days. Isolated accumulations of up to 40 mm in seven days are also forecast for Rond\u00f4nia, Roraima, and Tocantins. In other areas of the region, showers with thunderstorms are possible, but no significant rainfall amounts are expected.\n<\/p>\n

In the Northeast region, the weather should remain stable and dry across most of the country during this period. Isolated showers are expected in the interior of Bahia, Maranh\u00e3o, and Piau\u00ed. Along the coast, light and isolated showers are possible, without significant accumulation.<\/p>\n
