The Brazilian harvest of soy<\/a> 2026\/27 begins with signs of reduced investment in technology and greater caution from producers. According to Veeries, average fertilization is expected to decrease due to high costs and lower availability of phosphate fertilizers, while the use of saved seeds is increasing in virtually all producing regions.\n<\/p>\n

The movement is noteworthy because it contrasts with the investment pattern observed in most recent harvests. In the historical survey, the average soybean productivity reached approximately 63 sacks per hectare in 2025\/26, accompanied by an average fertilizer application of close to 408 kilograms per hectare.<\/p>\n

The data indicate significant fluctuations. In 2021\/22, the average fertilizer use exceeded 420 kilograms per hectare, while productivity was close to 52 sacks. In 2022\/23, fertilization fell to about 363 kilograms per hectare, but productivity reached approximately 60 sacks. The comparison shows that the results do not depend exclusively on the amount of fertilizer applied.\n<\/p>\n

The drop in fertilization in 2022\/23 occurred after the start of the war in Ukraine, when producers still had nutrient reserves in the soil and were experiencing better economic results. Now, the situation is different: the reduction in expenses is accompanied by an increase in the use of their own seeds, which may decrease technological investment in crops.<\/p>\n

For Veeries, this combination adds risk to the new season. Beyond the weather, crop yields can be influenced by decisions made before planting, especially regarding the purchase of inputs and seed selection. The effect on productivity is still uncertain, but the decrease in investment increases doubts about the performance of the 2026\/27 crop.\n<\/p>\n
