The current index also surpasses the 3.5% recorded in the same period of 2025 and the average of 3.6% of the last five harvests.<\/p>\n<p>The main change occurred in Mato Grosso. After a start to the season marked by low soil water availability, increased rainfall during the last week raised water storage and gave producers greater confidence to expand into new rainfed areas.<\/p>\n<p>The intensification occurred mainly in the Central-North, West, and Southeast macro-regions of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Conab itself pointed out that planting in Mato Grosso remained practically restricted to areas irrigated by center pivot irrigation, due to insufficient rainfall. The recent improvement, therefore, has allowed for the expansion of crop planting beyond these locations.<\/p>\n<p>In Mato Grosso do Sul, planting is still considered to be in its early stages, despite widespread and substantial rainfall. The southern and border regions appear to be more advanced, while in the other areas planting has only occurred sporadically or under center pivot irrigation systems.<\/p>\n<p>Goi\u00e1s has also begun its harvest season after the end of the sanitary break was brought forward to September 20th. Some areas have been planted selectively in the West, Southwest, and East regions, mainly under irrigation, while high temperatures remain a point of concern.<\/p>\n<p>In Paran\u00e1, producers took advantage of periods of dry weather to advance with planting, and the areas already planted are showing good development. Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul also recorded a timely start to planting.<\/p>\n<p>Despite recent improvements in Mato Grosso, water availability remains a concern.
