According to data released by the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), the main concerns involve grain quality, yield, and the volume that will be produced, following unfavorable weather conditions throughout the cycle.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_3_sidebar_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">According to data released by Cepea, excessive rainfall, increased soil moisture, and the occurrence of diseases in several regions have compromised crop development. In some locations, these conditions have resulted in lower-than-expected crop quality.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_5_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Researchers at Cepea also point out that wheat farmers were already discouraged from investing in the crop for the 2026 harvest. This scenario resulted in a reduction in both cultivated area and production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">As the harvest progresses, the effects of the weather on the crops are increasing uncertainties regarding the harvest outcome. Among the reported problems are reductions in pH, gluten strength, and the Falling Number, a test used to measure the quality of wheat intended for flour production for breadmaking.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_5_conteudo_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">In Paran\u00e1 and S\u00e3o Paulo, Cepea collaborators are already reporting the presence of wheat types 2 and 3 in the harvested lots. At the same time, the availability of type 1 is lower.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">According to data released by Cepea, this lower availability of higher-quality wheat could increase dependence on imports to meet domestic consumption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The harvest is therefore progressing against a backdrop of lower supply and uncertainty about the quality of the product reaching the market.
