The market of wheat<\/a> The market continues to be marked by firm prices, few transactions, and concern about the effects of the rains on crop quality in the south of the country. According to TF Agroecon\u00f4mica, sellers are resisting lowering their asking prices, while mills are assessing higher costs and monitoring the progress of the harvest.\n<\/p>\n

In Rio Grande do Sul, offers range between R$ 1,450 and R$ 1,550 per ton FOB, depending on the origin, while CIF purchases rarely fall below R$ 1,550 to R$ 1,570. Even with the high prices, there were negotiations that totaled up to 18,000 tons by the end of the day. Isolated harvests in the Northwest region show reports of shriveled grains, low pH, and occurrences of Fusarium head blight. In the international market, the indication for December is close to R$ 1,270 per ton at the port, a level still unattractive to sellers. In Panambi, the over-the-counter price rose to R$ 72 per sack.<\/p>\n

In Santa Catarina, mills are well-stocked and focused on shipping previous purchases. Some isolated deals occurred at R$ 1,520 per ton FOB, while sellers showed little interest in negotiating given the expectation of price increases caused by the rains. There are still no offers for new wheat.\n<\/p>\n

In Paran\u00e1, producers are seeking to renegotiate contracts, while sellers of type 1 wheat indicate prices between R$ 1,550 and R$ 1,600 per ton FOB. Rainfall also maintains concerns about quality. Deral reports 75% of the crops in good or excellent condition, 22% average, and 3% poor, with 58% already maturing.<\/p>\n

Nationally, Conab reports that 21.6% of the wheat area has already been harvested. The progress is uneven across states, with particular attention to the effects of humidity, disease pressure, and quality loss in areas most affected by rainfall.\n<\/p>\n
