The weekly advance was 2.70 percentage points (pp), and the pace was 0.50 pp above the average of the last five years.

Work began on June 19 and lasted for almost three months. According to Imea's cotton analyst, Cintia Teixeira, the weather conditions contributed to the crop's development and allowed operations to progress throughout the cycle.

"Overall, we had favorable weather conditions throughout the cycle, which contributed to the good development of the cotton and the progress of the harvest," he assessed.

According to Cintia, despite some points of concern recorded in the final stretch of the cotton harvest, the crop performance was positive.

"The harvest concluded under favorable conditions, with the state reaching 100% of the estimated area. The pace was also above the average of the last five years, showing good progress in operations," he highlighted.

With the harvest now complete, Imea will monitor the consolidation of production results and the performance of cotton in Mato Grosso. As of the beginning of September, cottonseed production was estimated at 6.67 million tons, according to projections monitored by Imea.

Major exporter of cotton.

According to Imea, Mato Grosso should remain the main contributor to Brazil's leadership in global cotton exports. The 2025/26 harvest, which began in June, will generate cotton available for export after processing, with shipments concentrated in the 2026/27 commercial cycle, which began in August of this year.

In the first month of the new cycle, Brazil shipped 106,350 tons of cotton lint, a volume 37,28% higher than that recorded in August 2025, with 58,32% of that total coming from Mato Grosso.

A world leader in exports since the 2022/23 crop year, Brazil is expected to maintain its position in the 2026/27 cycle, according to the USDA, with shipments 24.39% higher than those of the United States. For the period, Imea estimates that Mato Grosso will export 2.09 million tons of cotton lint, referring to the production of the 2025/26 crop year.

THE MM Cereais works with the best grains on the market in the Central West Region and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

A colheita de algodão da safra 2025/26 foi concluída nesta sexta-feira (11) em Mato Grosso,…

[90
240,239,284
post-27826","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-centro-oeste","tag-agricultura","tag-agronegocio","tag-algodao
["GET
