THE soy<\/a> In Mato Grosso, the average price of soybeans at R$ ended the last week at R$ 134.01 per sack, an increase of 2.39% compared to the previous week. According to data released by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the price increase was influenced by the rise in soybean prices on the Chicago Board of Trade, a movement that also improved trading conditions for the 2025\/26 and 2026\/27 crops in the state.\n<\/p>\n

The international scenario gained support in August amid concerns about the development of soybean crops in the United States. According to Imea, the current contract remained at high levels in Chicago, while futures contracts exceeded US$ 13 per bushel, favoring price support in the Mato Grosso market.<\/p>\n

The improvement in prices had a direct impact on the marketing of the next season. The 2026\/27 crop reached 39.12% of the estimated production already negotiated, an increase of 8.89 percentage points compared to the previous month. The index was also 11.72 percentage points higher than that observed in the same marketing period of the 2025\/26 crop.<\/p>\n

In addition to the increase in trading volume, the average price of soybeans for the 2026\/27 season also rose. The value reached R$ 121.18 per sack, an increase of R$ 10.01 per sack compared to July, according to the institute. Monthly data shows an acceleration in forward sales, as the percentage traded increased from 23.33% in July to 30.23% in August and reached 39.12% in the most recent survey.\n<\/p>\n

In the 2025\/26 harvest, negotiations are nearing completion. The volume traded reached 96.90% of production, an increase of 3.84 percentage points compared to July. The evolution recorded by Imea indicates that the percentage was at 87.68% in July and rose to 93.06% in August before reaching the current level.<\/p>\n

While prices and marketing advanced, soybean exports from Mato Grosso lost momentum in August. The state shipped 1.41 million tons, a decrease of 61% compared to July and 1.26% compared to August 2025, according to figures from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) presented in the Imea bulletin. Mato Grosso's share of national shipments fell from 27.06% in July to 14.42% in August.<\/p>\n

The reduction was attributed to lower supply available in the state, amidst the progress of marketing for the 2025\/26 harvest and strong domestic demand for the grain. The assessment presented by Imea is that Mato Grosso tends to slow down shipments in the coming months, while other states may increase their share of Brazilian exports.\n<\/p>\n

Domestically, the movement was less intense. Brazil exported 9.81 million tons of soybeans in August, a decrease of 26.821 TP4T compared to July, but a volume 5.171 TP4T higher than that recorded in August 2025. According to data from Secex released by Imea, this performance was supported by the greater availability of soybeans in states with later harvests and by strong external demand for the Brazilian product.<\/p>\n

Other indicators also marked the week. The dollar fell 0.53%, while soybean oil in Mato Grosso rose 1.22%, with an average price of R$ 6,196.39 per ton. With Chicago supporting prices and the 2025\/26 crop nearing completion of its commercialization, the Mato Grosso market is increasingly focusing its attention on forward negotiations for the 2026\/27 cycle.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
