Increased productivity has boosted the competitiveness of Brazilian agribusiness over the past two decades, but the pursuit of higher added value is likely to gain traction in the coming harvests. The challenge lies in combining yields in the field with products capable of meeting the demands of differentiated markets and generating better profit margins.\n<\/p>\n

During the XXIII Brazilian Seed Congress in Foz do Igua\u00e7u, consultant Ismael Menezes, from MD Commodities, highlighted that Brazilian productivity grew by 35% between 2005 and 2025. According to the analysis presented, genetics, biotechnology, precision agriculture, management, and administration were decisive for this progress.<\/p>\n

"Are you going to produce more sacks or produce more value? Are we going to wait for this market to happen or are we going to be agents of transformation?" he asked.<\/p>\n

Among the opportunities is high-oleic soybean, which has greater oil stability and distinct nutritional characteristics. In the United States, nearly 1 million hectares are already being cultivated with this type of grain, with premiums between US$0.75 and US$1.25 per bushel.\n<\/p>\n

Sustainable aviation fuel also appears as a potential market. The projection presented indicates that demand could require between 35 million and 37 million tons of soybeans by 2037, if part of the oil destined for biodiesel were directed to SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).<\/p>\n

For the 2026\/27 crop year, the assessment points to greater attention being paid to corn and soybeans, while rice, wheat, and cotton show supporting factors. In soybeans, US production, Chinese demand, and supply from major exporters will continue to be among the central factors influencing prices.\n<\/p>\n
