The harvest of the second crop of corn<\/a> 2025\/26 progressed in Paran\u00e1 and reached 73% of the more than 2.9 million hectares planted, while prices received by producers rose last week. According to data released by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), the advance of the harvest was 13 percentage points compared to the previous week. The data are part of the Deral Conjunctural Bulletin, released on Thursday (20). In the previous week, 60% of the area destined for the second crop had been harvested.\n<\/p>\n

Despite fluctuating weather conditions, fieldwork progressed in the state. Paran\u00e1 is in the midst of harvesting its second crop, gradually increasing the availability of the grain in the domestic market. The high supply is occurring precisely at a time of rising prices. According to data released by Deral\/Seab, the 60-kilogram bag of corn ended the week quoted at R$ 56.79 for the producer.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The value represents an increase of 7.8% compared to the average price recorded in July. Compared to August 2025, current prices are 11% above the average observed in that period.<\/p>\n

Part of the price increase recorded in the domestic market is related to the behavior of corn in the international market. According to data released by Deral\/Seab, on the Chicago Board of Trade, the cereal accumulated an approximate increase of 22% when comparing this week's price to that recorded in the same period of August 2025. However, the international rise was partially limited by currency fluctuations. During the same period, the dollar fell by 4%, reducing the impact of the corn price increase in Chicago on prices in the Brazilian market.\n<\/p>\n

Despite the recent increase, domestic supply remains high as the Paran\u00e1 harvest progresses. According to data released by Deral\/Seab, this increased availability tends to put pressure on prices, mainly because most of the corn produced in Paran\u00e1 is destined for the domestic market. With the arrival of new volumes from the second crop, price behavior will therefore depend on the balance between the supply available in the state, domestic demand, and international market conditions.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
