According to data released by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), production costs were estimated at R$ 10,629.11 per hectare in July 2026, 1.36% lower than that recorded in the 2025\/26 crop season. The main point of concern is fertilizers. The expense for these inputs was estimated at R$ 3,977.05 per hectare, an increase of 2.23% compared to the previous season, according to data released by Imea.\n<\/p>\n

The 1.36% reduction in crop costs for the 26\/27 season does not eliminate the challenges faced by producers. This movement is related to restrictions and supply risks in the international market, maintaining pressure on one of the main expenses in cotton cultivation.<\/p>\n

Given this scenario, Imea reinforces the importance of anticipating the purchase of fertilizers when there are more favorable market conditions. With overall costs lower than those recorded in the previous season, but with fertilizers on an upward trajectory, the behavior of input prices should remain among the main points of attention for the financial management of cotton farming in Mato Grosso.\n<\/p>\n
