In response to this scenario, the Legal Classifier program of the Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT) has intensified its technical support to producers through field visits, specialized diagnoses, and practical guidance focused on phytosanitary management.

The initiative aims to bring producers closer to technical and scientific information, allowing for more precise identification of the causes of damage and the adoption of corrective and preventive measures. In many cases, rapid identification of the problem is fundamental to avoiding greater losses and defining more efficient strategies for future harvests. For researcher and master in phytopathology, Erlei Melo Reis, the direct technical presence in the field is essential to fill a gap that still exists in the field, especially in the monitoring of plant diseases.

“Based on my experience in Brazil and South America, especially in the area of plant diseases, I see that in Mato Grosso, producers still have little technical assistance specifically focused on diseases. It is essential that someone with in-depth knowledge is in the field, talking directly to them. In practice, there is a lack of useful and applicable sources of scientific information for those who are producing. When it comes to phytopathology for an area of more than 11 million hectares of soybeans, there are few professionals and researchers working directly to help the producer. This is a very large gap that means many producers need to send samples to distant locations to get a diagnosis, precisely because this closer structure is lacking. And that makes all the difference,” explained the specialist.

During visits to properties served by the program, Erlei identified that, in many cases, the symptoms observed in the grains are linked to a broader problem in the plant, involving the stalk and root system, which requires a more complete analysis and more strategic management.

“In the properties I visited, for example, I noticed situations where the disease observed in the ear of corn was directly related to problems in the stalk and root, something that many producers still don't have the habit of evaluating. In corn, there are at least five fungi that can cause ear rot, and these same fungi can also compromise the root and stalk. The producer needs to understand that if a disease does not generate economic damage or a reduction in productivity, there is no reason to spend on pesticides. This is a basic principle of rational management. The problem is that, without adequate technical guidance, they often apply fungicides unnecessarily, raising costs unnecessarily,” Erlei pointed out.

Among the properties that received support from Aprosoja MT and the specialist is that of the coordinating delegate of the São José do Rio Claro nucleus, Cleverson Bertamoni. The producer faced a high incidence of diplodia, a disease that compromises the quality of the grains and can generate significant discounts in commercialization.

“I want to congratulate Aprosoja MT for providing this support and bringing in someone so qualified to guide us. The professor helped us identify the possible causes of this high diplodia pressure and also took crop materials for laboratory analysis. Based on these analyses, he will be able to give us new procedures and guidelines to try to prevent this situation from recurring, since we have had significant losses due to the strong incidence of the disease,” reported Cleverson.

With the technical diagnosis and specific guidelines for future management, Cleverson reinforced the importance of Aprosoja MT's role in providing qualified support to farms, especially in situations that require quick and assertive responses.

“For the next corn planting season, some changes have already been recommended. One of them is to pay closer attention to the origin of the material, the corn seed, understand the history of the producing region, and check if there is an incidence of the disease in these areas. We will also take into account the climate at the end of the crop cycle. In his assessment, the environment favored the spread and intensified the pressure of the disease here in the region,” he reinforced.

The Legal Classifier program continues to be an important tool to support rural producers, strengthening access to technical information, promoting more accurate diagnoses, and contributing to safer decisions on the farm. For Aprosoja MT, expanding this specialized support is fundamental to reducing losses, improving production quality, and strengthening the sustainability of the production system in Mato Grosso.

THE MM Cereais works with the best grains on the market in the Central West Region and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

Os problemas com grãos ardidos têm se tornado uma preocupação crescente nas lavouras de milho…

[90
240,239
post-27355","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-centro-oeste","tag-agricultura","tag-agronegocio
["GET
