Imea (Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics) released a report providing updates on the marketing of the state's main crops, such as corn, soybeans, and cotton.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the case of cereals, sales of the 2025\/26 crop advanced 1.48 percentage points throughout May, closing the month with 47.32% of the estimated production already sold, a level 1.02 percentage points above that recorded in the same period of the previous crop.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pace is sustained by the greater availability of the grain on the market, leading producers to intensify sales as the harvest progresses. As a result, the expectation of high supply has put pressure on prices, which closed the month with an average of R$ 42.73\/sc, a decrease of 1.69%,\u201d explain the technicians from Imea.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the 2026\/27 season, sales reached 4.77% of the estimated production, an increase of 2.08 percentage points during May, a growth reflecting the sideways movement of prices, which closed at an average of R$ 45.39 per sack.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the fiber crop, sales of the 2025\/26 harvest slowed throughout May after months of strong growth in a market marked by greater caution. "The approaching harvest and the faster pace compared to recent years led to the closing of sporadic contracts, with producers awaiting confirmation of the actual volume they will produce in the cycle," reports Imea.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a result, sales increased by 2.97 percentage points in the month, the smallest increase since August 2025, reaching 71.86% of projected production, traded at an average price of R$ 132.59\/@ in the period, an increase of 0.55% compared to April 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Finally, soybean exports reached 4.55 million tons in May 2026, a volume 14.951 TP4T lower than that recorded in May 2025. "This decrease reflects the reduction in Chinese purchases, which totaled 2.79 million tons in the month, a drop of 22.741 TP4T compared to the same period in 2025. Furthermore, higher domestic demand for soybeans in the state helped absorb part of the available supply, driven by increased crushing for soybean oil production, the main raw material used in biodiesel manufacturing," the report states.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the monthly decline, in the accumulated period from January to May 2026, Mato Grosso's soybean exports reached 19.85 million tons, the highest volume for the period in the last five years.<\/p>\n
