Despite this, the increased participation of the Philippines among the main buyers is noteworthy. Even so, the export outlook is considered positive and should continue to contribute to the balance of supply and demand.<\/p>\n
In the medium term, two factors require monitoring: the rate of production growth and feed costs.<\/p>\n
Regarding production, the trend is for continued expansion in the shipment of animals for slaughter, a movement supported by the good margins recorded in pig farming over the last two years and by strong external demand. Potential problems in the flow of shipments, although not the main scenario, could put pressure on the domestic market, increasing domestic supply and impacting prices, since production cannot be adjusted quickly in the short term.<\/p>\n
Regarding costs, the scenario is also considered favorable, but with points of attention. The forecast of positive weather for the second corn crop in the next two months indicates potential for good production.
