The strong performance of the Brazilian poultry sector continues to boost exports of animal protein. The country recorded competitive prices for chicken meat in the international market and expanded shipments of both chicken and eggs at the beginning of 2026.<\/p>\n
According to data from UN<\/span><\/span>, compiled and analyzed by Cepea<\/span><\/span>The price of Brazilian chicken meat was the third most competitive in the world in 2025, behind only the prices in China and the United States. This scenario contributed to national exports achieving the best result for a January since the beginning of the historical series. Secex<\/span><\/span>, initiated in 1997.<\/p>\n In the first month of 2026, Brazil shipped more than 459,000 tons of chicken meat, a volume 3.6% higher than that recorded in January of the previous year, which until then represented the record for the period. Compared to December, however, there was a decrease of 10%, since in that month shipments had exceeded 510,000 tons.<\/p>\n Another factor favoring Brazilian performance is the sector's export profile. Based on information from USDA<\/span><\/span>Researchers at Cepea highlight that the United States and China allocated 86% and 95% of their chicken meat production, respectively, to domestic consumption in 2025, while Brazil directed approximately 67%, expanding its participation in the international market.<\/p>\n The growth in exports was also observed in the egg segment. Brazilian shipments started 2026 on an upward trend, reaching the highest volume for the month of January in the last 13 years. According to Cepea, the result was mainly driven by shipments of fresh eggs, while exports of processed eggs also increased, albeit to a lesser extent.<\/p>\n Among international destinations, the United Arab Emirates<\/span><\/span> They regained their leading position among the main buyers of Brazilian egg protein, after 11 months. The country imported 1,050 tons of eggs, a volume equivalent to 34% of the total exported by Brazil during the period.<\/p>\n In the domestic market, egg prices remain firm in the regions monitored by Cepea.
