The state of Par\u00e1 will end 2025 with significant growth in the Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP), reaching R$ 44.5 billion, compared to R$ 38.8 billion recorded in 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), released on November 21. The positive variation of 14.7% expands the state's share of the national total from 3.06% to 3.15%, reinforcing the advancement of Par\u00e1's agribusiness in the Brazilian context.<\/p>\n
A review of recent historical data shows a continuous trajectory of expansion. Between 2018 and 2025, the state's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) practically doubled, going from approximately R$$ 21.6 billion to R$$ 44.5 billion. It is important to highlight that the values are expressed in current terms and do not discount the accumulated inflation of the period, which means that part of the growth reflects price variations over time.<\/p>\n
Beef cattle farming remains the main agricultural activity in Par\u00e1 and accounts for the largest share of the state's Gross Production Value (GVP). In 2025, the segment will reach R$ 17.38 billion, above the R$ 14.06 billion recorded in 2024, maintaining its position as the main driver of growth in the state. The advancement of beef cattle farming contributes decisively to the aggregate result, given its high participation in the local productive structure.<\/p>\n
Soybeans emerge as the state's second most important agricultural chain and also show significant growth. The VBP (Value of Production) of the oilseed rises from R$ 7.63 billion in 2024 to R$ 8.84 billion in 2025, consolidating the grain as one of the cornerstones of agricultural growth in Par\u00e1. The performance of soybeans is complemented by the advance of cocoa, which registers R$ 6.97 billion in 2025, remaining among the state's main crops, albeit with a slight decrease compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n
Other agricultural and livestock chains also contribute to the final result. Cassava reaches R$ 4.23 billion, corn totals R$ 3.35 billion, and bananas reach R$ 1.24 billion. In livestock farming, in addition to cattle farming, chickens stand out with R$ 948.9 million, and milk with R$ 458.1 million, both above the values recorded in 2024.<\/p>\n
The declines observed in some activities, such as sugarcane, rice, and eggs, occur in segments with a smaller relative weight in the state's Gross Production Value (VBP) and do not compromise the overall performance of Par\u00e1's agricultural sector. In the composition of the VBP (Value of Agricultural Production), livestock accounts for 57% of the total value, while crops represent 43%, a proportion that remains stable compared to 2024.
