The Brazilian government has concluded sanitary negotiations with the governments of Lebanon and Tanzania that will allow Brazil to export various agricultural products to those countries.<\/p>\n
In Lebanon, health authorities have authorized Brazil to export live cattle and buffalo for breeding. In 2024, Lebanon imported over USD 195 million worth of live cattle from various countries. This new market opening strengthens Brazil's commercial position, which, in the same year, exported approximately USD 432 million in agricultural products to Lebanon, mainly meat, sugar and ethanol products, and coffee.<\/p>\n
In Tanzania, local authorities have authorized Brazil to export the following types of products: meat and heat-processed products of poultry, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs; poultry genetic material (fertile eggs and day-old chicks); bovine genetic material (in vivo and in vitro embryos); and live cattle for breeding. With a population of 68 million and a trajectory of economic growth, Tanzania represents future business opportunities for Brazilian producers. In 2024, Tanzania imported approximately USD 31 million in agricultural products from Brazil, with a focus on the sugar and ethanol sector.<\/p>\n
With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 486 market openings since the beginning of 2023.<\/p>\n
These results are the result of joint work between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
