This significant increase reflects the rise in feedlot finishing of young males, a strategy adopted by ranchers to take advantage of favorable prices and strong industry demand.

Despite increased supply, the price of finished cattle remained firm in September, mainly supported by strong external demand. Beef exports continue at a high level, helping to balance the market even with the entry of animals finished in feedlots.

For the fourth quarter of 2025, IMEA projects stable prices, but warns that the high slaughter of young males could reduce the supply of finished animals in the medium term, which adds an upward bias to prices in the coming months.

At the current rate, Mato Grosso remains one of the main slaughtering hubs in the country, consolidating its importance to the beef production chain and reinforcing the trend of intensifying production through feedlots and the slaughter of younger animals.

Regarding fat cattle prices, the institute highlighted that the price of fat cattle for future delivery fell by 0.59% last week, a result of the greater supply of finished animals for industries, being quoted on average at R$ 293.26/@.

"The wholesale price of beef carcasses increased by 0.83% last week, averaging R$ 20.90/kg, a result of higher domestic market demand," IMEA reported.

Last week, the price of a single cow weighing 10.5 arrobas averaged R$ 278.39/arroba, a decrease of 0.65% between weeks, caused by a greater supply in the category.

Increased price per arroba and higher slaughter rates boost livestock production value in Mato Grosso.

The Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) released this week its fourth projection of the Gross Production Value (VBP) of Mato Grosso for 2025, which should reach R$ 212.29 billion, an increase of 22.75% compared to the previous year.

Livestock farming, comprising beef cattle, poultry, swine, and dairy segments, accounts for a significant portion of this result. The sector is expected to generate R$ 44.22 billion in revenue, a growth of 24.50% compared to 2024.

Within this group, beef cattle farming stands out as the main driver of growth, with a forecast of reaching R$ 39.77 billion, representing an increase of 28.05% compared to last year. This impressive performance is supported by the appreciation of the price per arroba of finished cattle, which showed an average increase of 45.36% between January and September, and also by the higher volume of slaughter recorded in the state throughout the year.

According to Imea, this scenario reflects both the strong external demand for Brazilian beef and the increased use of feedlots, which has been increasing productivity and shortening the fattening cycle. The combination of firm prices and an accelerated pace of slaughter has guaranteed a positive year for livestock farming in Mato Grosso, consolidating the state as one of the largest producers and exporters of beef in the country.

Check out the full report. HERE.

THE MM Cereais works with the best grains on the market in the Central West Region and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

O mês de setembro trouxe um marco histórico para a pecuária mato-grossense: a participação de…

[90
240,239,307,328,330,358,361,414,473,634,635,656,660,792
post-25774","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-centro-oeste","tag-agricultura","tag-agronegocio","tag-arroba","tag-boi","tag-boi-china","tag-carcaca-atacado","tag-carne-bovina","tag-cotacao-do-boi","tag-exportacoes-carne-bovina","tag-pecuaria","tag-pecuaria-de-corte","tag-preco-da-arroba","tag-preco-do-boi","tag-valor-da-arroba
["GET
