With an increasingly challenging scenario in foreign trade, Paran\u00e1 has managed to expand sales to other markets, consolidating itself as the 5th largest exporter in the country. From January to September of this year, exports totaled US$17.7 billion, with a positive balance of US$15 billion in relation to imports, which totaled US$15.6 billion. The data is from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) and was organized by the Paran\u00e1 Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes).<\/p>\n

Paran\u00e1 is the 5th largest exporter in the country and the first in the South, behind only S\u00e3o Paulo (US$$ 52.4 billion), Rio de Janeiro (US$$ 33.6 billion), Minas Gerais (US$$ 33 billion) and Mato Grosso (US$$ 22.5 billion). Par\u00e1 (US$17.6 billion), Rio Grande do Sul (US$15.4 billion), Goi\u00e1s (US$10.4 billion), Santa Catarina (US$$ 9 billion) and Bahia (US$$ 8.3 billion) also stood out. The remaining states together accounted for US$$ 37.8 billion.<\/p>\n

Exports from Paran\u00e1 have been undergoing a process of decentralization from international markets. From January to September of this year, products from Paran\u00e1 reached 209 international markets. Argentina, India, Iran, and Singapore, for example, showed strong growth.<\/p>\n

Neighboring Argentina, for example, practically doubled its share of imports of products from Paran\u00e1, going from 4.3% in the first nine months of 2024 to 8.2% in the same period this year. This was the largest variation recorded by a trading partner, with 86.4%. Exports of automobiles grew by 253%, reaching US$$ 367.7 million in 2025, compared to US$$ 112.7 million last year.<\/p>\n

India's share of Paran\u00e1's trade balance increased from 1.8% to 2.7% between January and September of one year and the next, representing a variation of 48.5%. Crude soybean oil was responsible for driving this increase, with US$$ of 338.8 million and a share of 71.6% in exports. Various organic and metallurgical chemical products also made a significant contribution, with positive variations of 37.4% and 24.9%, respectively.<\/p>\n

Iran was responsible for 2.5% of Paran\u00e1's exports to the world in 2025, a variation of 15.8% compared to 2.1% in the same period of 2024. The Asian country purchased US$$ 434.7 million, with cereals being the most prominent, accounting for US$$ 269.8 million and a variation of 476.6% compared to US$$ 46.7 million of the previous year.<\/p>\n

Singapore's share increased from 1.3% to 1.9%, with oils and fuels being the most traded product from Paran\u00e1 to the country, with US$$ 222.6 million from January to September of this year, an increase of 101.6% compared to US$$ 110.4 million in the same period of 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe state has been undergoing an important process of decentralizing goods and destinations, expanding exports to markets such as Argentina, India, Iran, and Singapore, demonstrating once again that Paran\u00e1's industry is modernizing, adding greater value to its products, as well as its agricultural production,\u201d highlighted the CEO of Ipardes, Jorge Callado.<\/p>\n

This decentralization of exports reflects the current situation faced by the world's two largest economies. China, a major importer of soybeans and their derivatives, accounted for 23.71% of total exports from Paran\u00e1 in the first nine months of 2025, compared to 28.51% in the same period of 2024, a reduction of 4.8 percentage points. This decrease is a consequence of China's decision to reduce the use of soybean meal as animal feed.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the United States, which previously recorded a share of 6.4% from January to September 2024, saw that number reduce to 5.6% in the same period this year. This decrease is due to tariffs imposed on Brazilian products by the US government, which primarily impacted the timber and coffee supply chains.<\/p>\n

Products<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Soybeans remain the main product exported from Paran\u00e1 to the world, representing 20.9% of the state's trade balance. Exports reached US$3.7 billion in the first nine months of 2025.<\/p>\n

Next in line are fresh chicken meat, responsible for 14.8% of Paran\u00e1's exports, with US$2.6 billion traded; soybean meal, with 5.4% and US$953.2 million; raw sugar, with 4.7% and US$830.7 million; automobiles, with 3.7% and US$649.7 million; paper and cereals, both with a 3.5% share and US$618.5 million and US$616.8 million sold, respectively.<\/p>\n

Trade balance<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The trade balance was favorable for the state. From January to September 2025, US$17.7 billion was exported, compared to US$15.6 billion imported, resulting in a positive balance of US$2 billion. "Paran\u00e1 continues to show positive numbers in relation to its foreign trade. Of the US$17.7 billion, US$10.5 billion is in food," added Callado.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
