On Tuesday (23), at the ApexBrasil headquarters in Bras\u00edlia, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos F\u00e1varo, participated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Mato Grosso (Famato). The agreement provides for the installation of an ApexBrasil office in Cuiab\u00e1 (MT), focusing on strengthening the state's exports.<\/p>\n

The document was signed by the president of ApexBrasil, Jorge Viana, and the president of Famato, Vilmondes Sebasti\u00e3o Tomain, with F\u00e1varo as a witness. According to data from the agency, Mato Grosso has maintained a trade surplus for two decades. In 2024, exports totaled US$27.6 billion, with soybeans and derivatives, corn, and cotton accounting for 831% of that total. During the same period, 251 companies from the state were active in foreign trade.<\/p>\n

In his speech, F\u00e1varo highlighted the expansion of markets for Brazilian agricultural products, a result of joint action between the government and the private sector. \u201cIt\u2019s no coincidence that we have opened 437 new markets. This is the result of seeking business, working together, attending international trade fairs, bringing entrepreneurs closer to buyers, and generating commercial opportunities. With this new office, Apex will do more business. The Brazilian population will benefit, especially the people of Mato Grosso,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Jorge Viana highlighted the strategic importance of the new unit. \u201cMato Grosso is the state that exports the most in Brazil. By the end of the year, we will be operating in Cuiab\u00e1, allowing the state to receive investments from all over the world. Apex works to promote agribusiness products and other sectors of the Mato Grosso economy in the international market,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Famato's president, Vilmondes Tomain, the installation of the office will bring competitive advantages. "With Apex in Cuiab\u00e1, we will have better conditions to discuss export strategies, attract investments, and generate more opportunities for Mato Grosso," he assessed.<\/p>\n

Between January and August 2025, exports from Mato Grosso totaled US$19.75 billion, with emphasis on the soybean complex (US$13.07 billion), meat (US$2.50 billion) and cotton (US$1.91 billion). The main destinations were China, Spain, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/p>\n

With this initiative, ApexBrasil seeks to support local companies in opening new markets, strengthening the internationalization of production, attracting strategic investments, and diversifying the economy of one of the most representative states in Brazilian agribusiness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
