The Port of Paranagu\u00e1 led soybean exports across Brazil in August, with a volume of 2 million tons, reaching US$845.9 million FOB \u2013 the price of the product at the point of shipment. This figure represents 21.71% of the total volume exported by the country during the same period.<\/p>\n
From January to August 2025, 11.3 million tons of soybeans were shipped from the Port of Paranagu\u00e1, corresponding to US$4.5 billion FOB. This value exceeds by US$1.2 billion the total exported by Paran\u00e1 producers, according to data released last week by the Paran\u00e1 Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes).<\/p>\n
The difference is due to the fact that the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 also handles products originating from other states. "This is a clear demonstration that we are ready to serve our entire hinterland, which includes Paran\u00e1 and parts of Santa Catarina, S\u00e3o Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, and Goi\u00e1s," emphasizes the CEO of Portos do Paran\u00e1, Luiz Fernando Garcia.<\/p>\n

The main destination for soybean exports during the period was China, which accounted for more than 90% of demand. Thailand (2.2%) and Iraq (1.6%) followed.<\/p>\n
Despite a third of the month being marked by rain, which paralyzed operations, the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 handled 7 million tons in August, the highest amount recorded for the month in the historical average.<\/p>\n
According to the Director of Port Operations, Gabriel Vieira, even with the increase in grain shipments, vessels do not experience long queues to dock. "Our export corridor doesn't face a single day of queuing beyond what is necessary for the clearance procedures and the docking process," he emphasizes.<\/p>\n
Leadership in animal protein exports<\/strong><\/h4>\nThroughout the month, another prominent commodity was frozen chicken, with 185,500 tons moved, corresponding to 49.6% of national exports \u2013 practically half of the entire Brazilian volume. The main origin of the exported product is the states of Paran\u00e1 and part of Santa Catarina.<\/p>\n
By 2025, 1.7 million tons of chicken had already been exported via Paranagu\u00e1. This represents 44.4% of all national exports, consolidating the port as the largest chicken export corridor in the world. In FOB value, this amounted to more than US$2.4 billion for the product shipped abroad.<\/p>\n
Soybean meal<\/strong><\/h4>\nAnother product that is gaining increasing prominence is soybean meal. Exports registered by the Port of Paranagu\u00e1 represent 29.1% of the national movement, the second largest volume in Brazil, with 4.5 million tons shipped in 2025. In August alone, 508,000 tons were handled.<\/p>\n
The main destinations were the Netherlands, France, South Korea, Spain, Indonesia, and Germany. In this eighth month of the year, France led the imports of soybean meal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
