The Goiana Agricultural Defense Agency (Agrodefesa) has extended until July 15 the deadline for livestock farmers to complete the first stage of mandatory herd declaration in the 246 municipalities of Goi\u00e1s. The measure was made official through Ordinance No. 361\/2025 of the Agency, published this Thursday (26\/06) in the State Official Gazette.<\/p>\n

\nThe declaration must be made exclusively online, through the Goi\u00e1s Agricultural Defense System (Sidago), at the address:\u00a0sidago.agrodefesa.go.gov.br<\/a>. It is necessary to provide information such as the number of animals, births, deaths, movements and evolution, in addition to the updated registration of the rural property. To declare, the producer must access Sidago with a unique login and password. Filling out the form correctly and within the new deadline is essential to maintain animal health obligations and ensure the regular movement of herds in the State.<\/p>\n

\nThe president of Agrodefesa, Jos\u00e9 Ricardo Caixeta Ramos, emphasizes that the herd declaration is strategic to protect the Goi\u00e1s herd, preventing the spread of diseases and ensuring the production of healthy and safe food. \u201cWe are in a new era of agricultural defense, with important advances such as the international recognition of Brazil as free of foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination. This scenario requires even greater commitment to the health of herds. The mandatory declaration is one of the pillars for maintaining sanitary control and ensuring Goi\u00e1s' leading role in agribusiness,\u201d he states.<\/p>\n

\nThe Director of Agricultural Defense, Rafael Vieira, emphasizes that the measure has a direct impact on the economic security of the sector. \u201cThe declaration is not just a bureaucratic requirement. It is essential to guarantee the health of Goi\u00e1s livestock. With the information obtained through the Sidago registry, Agrodefesa is able to monitor the state\u2019s livestock, carry out specific actions and also promote rapid responses if any suspected disease is reported. Therefore, producers who declare accurately contribute directly to the safety of the production chain,\u201d he points out.<\/p>\n

\nAgrodefesa's Animal Health Manager, Denise Toledo, explains that in this first stage of the 2025 herd declaration, it is necessary to provide detailed information on the age of each bovine and buffalo that, on the date of the declaration, is between zero and 12 months old. "This alert is important because there are two mandatory stages of herd declaration in Goi\u00e1s. The second stage occurs in November and December. Those who do not declare within the established deadlines may have restrictions on the issuance of the Animal Transit Guide (GTA) and may be subject to penalties provided for in the legislation", she reports.<\/p>\n

\nRabies vaccination will not be required for declaration<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe new ordinance also suspends the requirement to prove vaccination against rabies for herbivores in the first phase of 2025 for all cattle, buffalo, goats, sheep and horses on properties located in the 119 municipalities classified as high risk in the State of Goi\u00e1s. The decision takes into account the shortage of vaccines in the national market, officially recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), which affected the supply of the immunobiological in several resellers.<\/p>\n

\nAgrodefesa also advises that producers who were unable to vaccinate their livestock must declare their livestock by July 15, and later (by August 30) must prove vaccination through Sidago by purchasing the vaccines and issuing the electronic invoice by the reseller. The measure aims to avoid future penalties and ensure control over the immunization carried out.
