The Chamber of Deputies approved, this Tuesday (10\/6), Bill 4,497\/2024, which deals with the land regularization of rural properties located in border areas. Authored by deputy Ti\u00e3o Medeiros (PP-PR), the PL proposes extending the deadline for ratification of these properties for more years and establishes a standardized national procedure for regularization, which should provide greater security and agility to the process.<\/p>\n
The proposal represents an important step forward for the agricultural sector, especially for producers who have been waiting for decades for legal certainty to continue producing with peace of mind. In Mato Grosso, a state that borders Bolivia, the impact of the measure is significant. Around 28 municipalities are located within the 150-kilometer strip of the division, and the lack of a clear and standardized procedure has made it difficult to ratify property titles in these regions. As of April of this year, less than 200 properties had been regularized, according to data from notary offices operating in the respective municipalities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is alarming,\u201d said the president of the Mato Grosso Agriculture and Livestock Federation (Famato), Vilmondes Tomain. \u201cThe low adherence is mainly due to the lack of an objective procedure. Without this procedure, the risk of legal uncertainty is real and imminent,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n
With the approval of the Bill, rural producers in these areas will be able to have their titles ratified, guaranteeing the right to property and access to public policies that are fundamental to the development of the countryside, such as rural credit, technical assistance and incentive programs.<\/p>\n

When producers are certain about the ownership of their land, they invest with more confidence, generate jobs, boost the economy and contribute to food production for Brazil and the world. Legality is not only a right, but a commitment to the future of the countryside and the country,\u201d Tomain emphasizes.<\/p>\n
The project also corrects a legal loophole that could lead to the cancellation of legitimate titles and the return of productive areas to the possession of the Union, putting the legal and economic stability of hundreds of properties at risk.<\/p>\n
The regularization area covers 588 municipalities and corresponds to approximately 16% of the national territory.<\/p>\n
For Famato, the approval of PL 4497\/2024 is a victory for the agricultural sector and an essential step towards ensuring the appreciation of those who produce in the country, especially in strategic regions such as the Mato Grosso border.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
