The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) reports that Brazilian pork exports (including all products, both fresh and processed) totaled 118.7 thousand tons, a volume 13.7% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, with 104.4 thousand tons.<\/p>\n

In terms of revenue, there was an increase of 29.3% in the monthly comparison, with US$ 291.1 million in May this year, against US$ 225.2 million in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

In the year to date (January to May), shipments reached 584.8 thousand tons, 15.4% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, with 506.6 thousand tons.<\/p>\n

In terms of revenue, the balance realized in the first five months of this year reached US$1.381 billion, a performance 29.8% higher than the previous year, with US$1.064 billion.<\/p>\n

The main destination for Brazilian pork exports, the Philippines imported 28.2 thousand tons in May, 115% higher than the amount shipped in the same period last year.<\/p>\n

Next are China, with 11.9 thousand tons (-43%), Chile, with 10.9 thousand tons (+21%), Singapore, with 8.3 thousand tons (+7.1%) and Japan, with 8.2 thousand tons (+60%). \u201cThe Philippines advanced in its position as the main destination for Brazilian pork, and new markets gained prominence in the ranking of the main importers of our product. There was a significant increase in the capillarity of the sector's exports in the international market and the expectation is that this flow will remain high throughout this year\u201d, assesses the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.<\/p>\n

Santa Catarina remains Brazil's main exporter of pork, with 59.6 thousand tons exported in May this year (+8.7% compared to the same period last year), followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 27.3 thousand tons (+15.8%), Paran\u00e1, with 19.2 thousand tons (+28.9%), Mato Grosso, with 3 thousand tons (-10.2%) and Minas Gerais, with 2.9 thousand tons (+25.1%).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
