The market of rice The market closed this Wednesday with mixed movements among the indicators, with stability in one benchmark and stronger appreciation in the higher-yielding product. According to Sergio Cardoso, an analyst in the supply chain... riceBased on data from CEPEA/IRGA-RS, the 58% whole grain indicator remained practically sideways, while the average of 59% to 62% advanced and exceeded the R$ range of 80 per sack.

In the paddy rice indicator with 58% of whole grains, the price on September 2nd was R$ 78.61 per sack, a decrease of 0.01% on the day. The accumulated increase for September is 0.31%. On Tuesday, September 1st, the value was R$ 78.62, after closing August at R$ 78.37. On August 28th, the reference price was R$ 78.06, while on the 27th it had been recorded at R$ 77.84 per sack.

The average price of paddy rice with 59% to 62% of whole grains showed a firmer performance. The price advanced 0.79% this Wednesday, reaching R$ 80.16 per sack, accumulating an increase of 0.80% in the month. The previous day, the indicator was at R$ 79.53, practically at the same level as the closing price on August 31st, of R$ 79.52. On August 28th and 27th, the values were R$ 79.27 and R$ 78.79, respectively.

The main highlight of the closing, therefore, was the higher-yielding rice, which broke the R$ 80 per sack mark, while the 58% indicator showed little fluctuation. In commercial dollars, the references for this Wednesday were US$ 15.39 and US$ 15.69, respectively. On Tuesday, the same references were at US$ 15.27 and US$ 15.44, as shown in the table.
