Corn futures contracts start September higher.

The market of corn September began with rising prices in futures contracts and still selective trading in the physical market, amid support from abroad and tighter supply in some regions. According to TF Agroeconômica, the global rise in cereal prices, coupled with the prospect of a reduced US harvest and crop failures in Europe, opened up opportunities for... corn Brazilian and helped to support futures prices on the B3.

On Tuesday, the September/26 contract closed at R$ 72.18, up R$ 1.12 on the day. November/26 ended at R$ 78.43, up R$ 0.83, while January/27 closed at R$ 81.79, a gain of R$ 0.90. In Rio Grande do Sul, indications ranged between R$ 58 and R$ 65 per sack, with restricted liquidity and more selective producers. The average state price advanced 1.53% during the week, to R$ 60.23.

In Santa Catarina, sales references remain close to R$ 60 per sack, given demand around R$ 55. The state maintains a strong dependence on corn from other regions, as it consumes approximately 8.5 million tons per year and produced 2.67 million tons in the 2025/26 harvest. Paraguay appears as an alternative source of supply.

In Paraná, negotiations remain sporadic, with indications near R$ 60 and demand around R$ 55 per sack CIF. The price received by the producer reached R$ 56.79, an increase of 7.8% over the July average and 11% compared to August 2025. The harvest of the second crop reached 83% of the area, while the planting of the first crop 2026/27 reached 6%.

In Mato Grosso do Sul, prices range between R$ 50 and R$ 55 per sack. Demand from the bioenergy industry remains strong and helps absorb supply, while the second crop harvest has reached 88% of the area.
