Live pig prices are stable at the start of the year. In the SP-5 market (Bragança Paulista, Campinas, Piracicaba, São Paulo and Sorocaba), the live animal delivered to the industry was traded at R$ 8.87/kg on Tuesday (06), with a slight decrease of 0.3% compared to the end of 2025.
On the international front, Brazil ended 2025 with new records in volume and revenue from pork exports. In December, the quantity exported was the highest for the month and the fourth highest in the entire historical series of the Secex (Secretariat of Foreign Trade), which began in 1997, evidencing, according to researchers at Cepea (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics), an acceleration in international demand for Brazilian meat during the period.
From January to December 2025, 1.5 million tons of meat were shipped, the largest volume exported by Brazil in a single year, representing an increase of 11.61% compared to 2024, according to data from Secex.
In December, 136,100 tons were exported, an amount 29.4% higher than that recorded in November 2025 and 26.2% higher than that of December 2025. With the intensification of sales, the sector's revenue also reached a record in 2025.
In total for the year, approximately R$ 3.6 billion was obtained, 19% more than the previous year and the highest value in the Secex historical series. In December, the value obtained from external sales was R$ 322 million, strong increases of 30% in the monthly comparison and 25% in the annual comparison.
