On Wednesday (August 27), the United States of America Mission 2025 delegation, organized by the Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT), attended the Farm Progress Show, which this year took place in Decatur, Illinois. Held since 1953, the fair brings together an average of 500 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from different countries. Considered the largest and most traditional agricultural exhibition in the United States of America (USA), the event is a great stage for the presentation of machinery, implements, technologies and solutions aimed at agribusiness.
The West Vice President of Aprosoja MT, Gilson Antunes de Melo, highlighted the importance of the fair as a space for comparison and learning for Brazilian producers.
"Today we had the opportunity to visit one of the main trade shows in the US, where we saw everything from soil preparation machinery to equipment used for analysis, planting, harvesting, and storage. The diversity of technologies presented is impressive, and at the same time, it's gratifying to see that Brazil is practically at the same technological level as the Americans. This is a very beneficial trade show, and I believe every farmer who has the opportunity should come, because here we can compare what we do in Brazil with what happens in the Americas," said Gilson.
Sapezal's delegate, Gustavo Guimarães, highlighted the experience of seeing the industry's latest developments up close and the differences between the Brazilian and North American realities. "Being here at the Farm Progress Show is a dream come true. We're exposed to many new developments, from bazookas, dryers, and subsoiling harrows to tractors of different makes and models, with very different horsepower compared to what we use in Brazil. It's a truly enriching learning experience, and we look forward to taking even more knowledge to apply on our properties."
By visiting the Farm Progress Show, Mato Grosso producers gained access to global trends and learned how Americans are using technology to optimize agricultural production. More than just visiting booths, participating in the show is about experiencing an environment of innovation and expanding perspectives for the future of agriculture in Brazil. Mission United States of America 2025 continues until Friday (August 29), with new technical visits scheduled.
