Agro MT Forum discusses strategic guidelines for the sector and participates in a meeting with the FPA

The regular meeting of the Agro MT Forum took place this Tuesday (20/05), held in the meeting room of the presidency of the Agriculture and Livestock Federation of Mato Grosso (Famato), in Cuiabá. The meeting brought together representatives of the main entities of the agribusiness of Mato Grosso to discuss strategic guidelines that impact the rural production sector in the state.

The following member entities of the Forum participated in the meeting: Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Mato Grosso (Famato), Association of Breeders of Mato Grosso (Acrimat), Association of Pig Breeders of Mato Grosso (Acrismat), Association of Seed Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosmat), Association of Producers of Beans, Legumes, Special Grains and Irrigants (Aprofir), Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives of Mato Grosso (OCB-MT) and Mato Grosso Association of Cotton Producers (Ampa).

The Famato System was represented by President Vilmondes Tomain, Directors Ronaldo Vinha (Institutional Relations) and Robson Marques (Administrative and Financial), and Superintendent Cleiton Gauer. During the meeting, priority topics for the agricultural and livestock segments were discussed, including general reports for the sector and the improvement of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR 2.0), presented by Famato's Land and Environmental Affairs analysts, Dione Castro and Tânia Arevalo.

Bills being processed by the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso (ALMT), of interest to the sector, were also debated, with emphasis on the Imagem Project, which deals with the regulation of aerial distribution.

Afterwards, the participants of the Agro MT Forum attended the 17th Ordinary Meeting of the ALMT Parliamentary Front for Agriculture, held in the Famato auditorium. The meeting was attended by state deputies Dilmar Dal Bosco, Ondanir Bortolini (Nininho) and Francisco Guarnieri de Lima, as well as representatives of agribusiness entities.

Among the topics discussed with the parliamentarians, the need to review the leaflets of agricultural pesticides stood out, considering the specificities of agricultural production in Mato Grosso. The main projects being processed in the Assembly that impact the sector were also discussed, and the proposal for the Agro Familiar Project was presented, which aims to promote the development of irrigated family farming in communities with water demand already presented by technical studies.

Famato's president, Vilmondes Tomain, highlighted the importance of coordination between sector entities and the state legislature:

“The rapprochement with Parliament is essential so that we can develop public policies that meet the real demands of rural producers. The Agro MT Forum, of which Famato is a member, remains firm in its role of technical and political representation of Mato Grosso’s agricultural sector,” said Tomain.
