This week, the Copagril Agroindustrial Cooperative begins a series of inaugurations for the largest territorial expansion project in its history. The first project to be inaugurated is the agricultural store in Dourados (MS) this Friday (09). This is the first of five new units that the cooperative will open in Mato Grosso do Sul by June, strengthening its presence in 10 cities in the state. Copagril currently has stores in Naviraí, Eldorado, Itaquiraí, Ivinhema and Mundo Novo.
In addition to Dourados, stores will be opened in the coming days in Rio Brilhante (May 16), Maracaju (May 28), Jardim and Sidrolândia (in June).
The new units will offer a complete portfolio of agricultural inputs – seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, specialties – and specialized technical assistance to meet the demands of rural producers in the region.
Potential
Chosen to be Copagril's regional unit in Mato Grosso do Sul, Dourados will be the central reference point for the cooperative's activities in the state. The city, recognized for its strong performance in the agricultural sector, now has a complete structure to serve rural producers with quality and agility.
According to Copagril CEO Eloi Darci Podkowa, starting in Dourados represents a strategic decision. “Dourados has a privileged position and robust production potential. With this new unit, we reinforce our commitment to being close to producers, offering everything they need to achieve high productivity in the field, with confidence and security,” stated Podkowa.
Planned expansion
Copagril CEO Daniel Engels Rodrigues emphasizes that the expansion in Mato Grosso do Sul is part of the cooperative's strategic plan, which foresees the opening of 14 new units by 2027. "We are expanding our operations with responsibility, focus and a vision for the future. In the new stores, producers will have access to Copagril's entire structure, including technical consulting, programs such as Smart Agriculture and initiatives focused on sustainability, such as Carbon Credit," highlights Engels.
In addition to the 10 stores in Mato Grosso do Sul, the cooperative has another 18 agricultural stores operating in Paraná, totaling 28 units.
Copagril currently has more than 7,500 members and 1,600 employees.
Historic moment
According to the Vice President, Cesar Luiz Petri, this is a historic moment for the Cooperative. “It is a very special moment for our entire membership, as the expansion reinforces that we are committed to growing in a structured and sustainable manner. Therefore, we are very confident that we will be successful in this new phase”, he highlighted.
In turn, the director-secretary, Ademir Luis Griep, emphasized the economic and social impacts of the initiative. “This is the largest expansion in Copagril’s history. In addition to strengthening our cooperative, this initiative will generate jobs, boost the regional economy and offer essential support to producers in the region. We are taking a very significant step towards further consolidating Copagril as a reference in the agribusiness sector,” he concluded.
